Tesco Bank appoints Richard Henderson as Chief Financial Officer

Tesco Bank has today announced the appointment of Richard Henderson as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The appointment is effective from 30 June 2021, and is subject to regulatory approval.
Richard, a chartered accountant, joined Tesco Bank as Audit Director in June 2009 before holding the roles of Finance Director (Banking) and Financial & Credit Risk Director. He was then appointed as Tesco Bank’s Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in January 2017, when he also joined the Bank’s Board and Executive Committee.
Prior to Tesco Bank, Richard held various roles at RBS, Barclays and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Richard will replace Tesco Bank’s current CFO, Declan Hourican, who will leave the company on 29 June 2021.

Richard Henderson biography
Richard joined Tesco Bank in June 2009 and held the roles of Audit Director, Finance Director (Banking) and Financial & Credit Risk Director before becoming Chief Risk Officer in January 2017.
Prior to joining Tesco Bank, Richard’s previous role was Director in the Chief Executive’s Office, RBS UK. Before that, Richard held roles in RBS Group Internal Audit, latterly as the Audit Partner for RBS UK. Prior to RBS, Richard worked for Group Internal Audit at Barclays PLC after beginning his career in external audit at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Richard is a Chartered Accountant and has the AMCT Diploma in Treasury. He has an MBA from the University of Edinburgh and a degree in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Nottingham.
